The first parody play in the English language, “Knight of the Burning Pestle” by Francis Beaumont is the story of Jasper and Luce, two young lovers who live through all the cliches of theatrical love.
This production, as put on by the fictional students of the fictional Strom Thurmond High School, is heckled and altered by George and Nell, a married couple in the audience who are mad their son Ralph doesn’t have more lines in the play.
